She follows in the footsteps of two fellow female American Idol alum, Jordin Sparks (who won season six) and Carrie Underwood (winner of season four).

Airing live from Indianapolis on Sunday, February 5, Super Bowl XLVI is stacked with ent! ertainme nt. After fans enjoy Kelly Clarksons game opening national anthem, they will then see a half-time performance featuring Madonna, Nicki Minaj, and M.I.A. There are still eight teams vying to be one of the two teams competing to bring home the Lombardi trophy, which is awarded to the Super Bowl winner every year. The Green Bay Packers are the defending champions and are one of the eight remaining teams.

In addition to her victory on American Idol, Kelly Clarkson was the runner-up on World Idol in 2003. She will be joining Blake Sheltons team as an advisor on NBCs The Voice this season, which premieres right after the Super Bowl.
