All eyes will be on Kelly Clarkson on Feb. 5, when she tackles the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLVI. After Christina Aguilera famously flubbed the lyrics at last year's game, the former American Idol winner faces the arduous task of belting out the opening number -- lyrics in tact.

Shortly after The Associated Press reported the news, Clarkson retweeted an article via her Twitter account, confirming the performance. The NFL has not yet officially made the announcement, but is expected to later this month.

While Clarkson will take on anthem duties, The Voice coach Blake Shelton and wife Miranda Lambert will sing "America the Beautiful." Cooincidentally, Clarkson andShelton will also be teaming up when the singer appears as a guest mentor on the popular NBC singing competition program.

In 2011, Christina Aguilera messed up the lyrics to the National Anthem, with the video of her flub going viral. That night I knew, I just made myself a Trivial Pursuit question. 'In 2011 what female singer, ya know, flubbed the lyrics.' It's just insane, said the singer of the incident.
