Kelly Clarkson ends Gotye's chart reign

Kelly Clarkson has toppled Gotye to score Australia's newest number one song.

The former American Idol winner shot up 11 spots on the Australian singles chart with her track Mr Know It All, barely a week after performing it at the 2011 NRL grand final in Sydney.

Clarkson ended Gotye's incredible eight-week run at the summit with Somebody That I Used To Know, which became the longest-running Australian number one single in 14 years.

Fellow Americans LMFAO continued their good fortune thanks to their latest track Sexy And I Know It skyrocketing from 13th spot to number three in a week. The electro duo also took out the Australian Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award's fave song last week.

Meanwhile, three Australians, including veterans Lee Kernaghan and John Farnham, have debuted high in the top 10 on the albums chart.

Kernaghan's Ultimate Hits record this week entered at number eight on the albums chart. It also beat Lady Antebellum to top the local country chart.

The Acoustic Chapel Sessions by John Farnham scraped into tenth position, as he embarks on yet another national tour.

But Melbourne rapper 360 outshone both, debuting at number four with his first album Falling & Flying.
