Kelly Clarkson has given fellow American Idol winner Carrie Underwood her vote as the country star's name is linked to a vacant judging role on the show where she first found fame.
Underwood has joined former Idol favourite Adam Lambert, Mariah Carey, Will.i.am and Fergie as potential replacements for Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, who both quit the show last week - and Clarkson reveals she'd love to see the Before He Cheats singer in a judge's chair on the talent show.
The singer, who wrapped up the first season of another talent show, Duets, on Thursday insists she is not in the running to re-team with Idol producers, stating, "I don't want to be a judge. Mentor is more my style. And not just mentoring, getting to be a part of the song with them (contestants), getting them amped up.
"But (Underwood) would. Didn't she major in journalism or something?"
Clarkson tells UsMagazine.com, "She can have that face... that bluff face! She can put that on! She would be good."
