Ever since Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler announced that they were leaving American Idol, there have been many great candidates to take their places including Mariah Carey, Charlie Sheen and Adam Lambert. Even Kelly Clarkson was recommended for a judge spot. The talented singer, however, isnt interested in becoming a judge on American Idol, but shes happy to recommend Carrie Underwoodfor the job. Read on to find out more.

In an interview with US Weekly, Kelly Clarkson said, I dont want to be a judge. Mentor is more my style. And not just mentoring, getting to be a part of the song with them, getting them amped up from our rehearsals to stage, its so exciting being onstage. Its fun! We kind of agree with her there. Although she would make a great judge, she does make a better mentor. Kelly seems like she truly enjoys mentoring young singers and even singing ! along wi th them.

But Kelly was quick to recommend Carrie Underwood for the judge spot. She would! Didnt she major in journalism or something? she said. And she can have that face . . . that bluff face! She can put that on! She would be good.

We definitely think Carrie Underwood would be a great judge on American Idol. She obviously knowswhat it takes to be a successful musician and would do a good job judging new talent. Although she would be honest with the contestants, we dont think she would be so brutal that she would hurt a singers feelings. In other words, she wont be a Simon Cowell.

Do you think Carrie Underwood would make a good American Idol judge? Are you disappointed Kelly Clarkson wont be one? Share your thoughts with us!
