Kelly Clarkson: 'I don't follow popstar rules'

The 'Mr Know It All' singer explained why she resists pressure to conform to music industry standards in a recent interview with Lucky.
"The hardest thing about being in this business is just being able to be yourself," Clarkson explained. "People act like there's this one set of rules to follow to be a popstar and I think, 'Well, you say I'm a popstar, so maybe that's not true'."
Clarkson went on to admit that her own taste in music could be described as unconventional.
"I put on the Hank Williams and the Patsy Cline and the Rosemary Clooney on vinyl - I'm not trying to be some cool indie-rock person, I just love the way it sounds - and throw on a T-shirt and jeans," she said.
She went on to joke: "In Texas, we practically come out of the womb in jeans!"
Clarkson recently dismissed rumours that she will join American Idol's judging panel, saying: "I don't like the judging part of it. That's what I liked about Duets.
"I got to actually mentor them and it was more fun. I don't think I'd be honest. I think I'd get home and be like, 'Did you see that, boy? He was bad!' I don't think I'd say that on TV because people would hate me!"
