Kelly Clarkson totally dominates her cover of Florence & The Machine's "Shake It Out." Don't get me wrong -- I am ALL about Kelly Clarkson's original material (um, hello, her song " Dark Side " is up for a "Best Video With A Message VMA !), but this cover of Florence + The Machine 's "Shake It Out" is SO BOMB WE CAN'T EVEN TAKE IT. Maybe Kelly should think about putting out a covers record? Or performing at my wedding??? Watch Kelly Clarkson cover Florence & The Machine's "Shake It Out" after the jump. While out on her "Stronger" tour , Kellyhasbeen taking cover song requests via Twitter , cause really, who doesn't adore a well-done tribute? Kelly Clarkson tests boundaries of pop-starlet mould at Toronto show

Kelly Clarkson Covers TLC's 'No Scrubs'

Image
(Getty) Kelly Clarkson really is the coolest. This summer she's delivered a consistent stream of contemporary covers on tour, putting her own spin on everything from Eminem's "Lose Yourself" to Pink's "Perfect." At a performance in Bristow, Virginia last week, the first-ever American Idol winner showed off her multi-octave range with TLC's classic feminist anthem "No Scrubs." Clarkson has been taking audience requests for the entirety of her "Stronger" tour. She's even performed her own take on Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe," because at this point, who hasn't? Kelly Clarkson Don't Want 'No Scrubs'

Kelly Clarkson proved herself capable of dropping ill rhymes when she covered Eminem's Lose Yourself in concert earlier this month , and at last night, she rocked another R&B classic. According to the singer, TLC's No Scrubs has been a frequent fan request on the Stronger tour and she finally covered the 1999 Grammy winning jam. RELATED - The Ultimate Kelly Clarkson Covers Playlist While I don't want to enter blasphemous territory, I must say that Kelly blew the original out of the water. Clarkson sings a fan-requested cover at each of her shows and has taken on the likes of Britney Spears , Madonna and Etta James in the past. She said of her latest cover: "I'm an Eminem fan, I grew up listening to him. The difference is, people, when you listen to him on the radio and sing along in the car you're a lot more bad ass than you actually are. "When you're alone without Eminem doing it with you, it's not as good. I'm on a highway from Texas to thug y'all!" Clarkson recently insisted that she doesn't follow the traditional popstar rules. She tweeted Wednesday (Aug. 15) that her boyfriend wins the award because he flew in to surprise her when she was having a really bad day. "I'm very lucky he loves me so much. Please don't settle ladies! Great men are out there! Or great ladies depending on what team you bat for," she said. Blackstock is Reba McEntire 's stepson and the son of Narvel Blackstock, Clarkson's manager. Her bad day was due, in part, to her black poodle's very bad day. "I had the worst day yesterday because my little baby Joplin, one my dogs, almost died, and I was a wreck. He is now at a vet hospital and doing better. Please say a prayer for him."

Review: Kelly Clarkson crafts fine Riverbend show

It was the worst day of Kelly Clarksons life. It was the greatest crowd for which Kelly Clarkson has ever performed. On a night when Clarkson seemed to be speaking in hyperbole, the pop singer put on a show that was, without a doubt, absolutely positively OK. Clarkson is touring with the pop-rock band the Fray on a co-headlining tour. It was Clarksons turn to close the concert at Riverbend Tuesday night. Ten years removed from winning the first season of American Idol, the singer has a big-enough catalog of hits to put on a hour-plus show that can hold an audiences attention, and, in some cases, cause the audience to respond with loud clapping noises. Seriously, I had the worst day ever, said Clarkson, 30, at the end of her set. Thanks for being the best audience ever. Photos: Kelly Clarkson at Riverbend She gave no reason as to why it was a bad day. But she was quick to point out every time the audience made up for it. Kelly Clarkson's Kentucky show postponed due to bad weather

The Miss Independent hitmaker was set to headline a free concert for members of the military and their families in Fort Campbell, but her performance was thrown into doubt as rain lashed the site. Organisers subsequently ruled the bad weather was a risk and announced that the show had been postponed to a later date. In a post on her Twitter.com page, disappointed Clarkson wrote, "Hey Kentucky sorry the weather was c**p tonight! We'll be back soon though!" Ironically, the concert cancellation comes a year to the day (13Aug) of the Indiana State Fair disaster, which claimed the lives of seven people and left dozens more injured when high winds brought down scaffolding and rigging moments before country duo Sugarland were scheduled to perform at the event.

Last week she decided to play to the local crowd at her Detroit, Michigan performance, lending her soulful vocals to a more melodic take on Eminem's classic pump-up anthem "Lose Yourself." Clarkson slipped into a gray hoodie to perform the cover, which she introduced by saying, "I'm an Eminem fan as well, I grew up listening to him as well, but the difference is, people: When you listen to him on the radio and sing along in your car, you're a lot more badass than you actually are. Because when you get alone without Eminem doing it with you, it's not as good." Still, the fans lost it when Clarkson broke into song, proclaiming, "I went from Texas to thug, y'all! Texas to thug!" Review: Kelly Clarkson delights Concord crowd

Call it a double shot of "American Idol" by the Bay. Having endured the latest crop of contenders during the American Idols Live! tour stop on Sunday at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, fans of the popular TV series had the chance to experience the original model -- "American Idol" champ No. 1, Kelly Clarkson -- on Wednesday at the Sleep Train Pavilion in Concord. And the two experiences couldn't have been more different. While Idols Live! was an uneven, perplexing affair, which left one wondering how the Fox TV show continues to draw high ratings, Clarkson's outing was an absolute joy to behold. Concert Review: It's all about the music for The Fray and Kelly Clarkson at DTE

By DAMIEN DENNISSpecial to the Oakland Press INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP -- A team-up of the Fray and Kelly Clarkson, both hit-making, platinum (or better) pop acts, could be seen as an Event. But instead the two made it just about the music on Friday night, Aug. 11, at the DTE Energy Music Theatre. Clarkson, the first American Idol winner and a judge on "Duets," made her way to stage following a rather impressive video introduction project onto a white curtain, hiding the stage from the audience. The curtain dropped and Clarkson and her band jumped right into "My Life Would Suck Without You." Her stage setup was rather simple, and her band was featured far more than you might expect, with the guitarists and bassists standing right up front alongside Clarkson throughout the show. Clarkson performed her most recent single, "Dark Side," with a passion that really showcased her talents, but she weakened her performance with far too many cover songs, including fun....
