Posted 21 minutes ago by MTV News in Television , Video , kelly-clarkson By Christina Garibaldi It seems like Kelly Clarkson has caught the acting bug again! You may remember a few years back that Kelly starred with American Idol runner-up Justin Guarini in the not-so well-received flick From Justin to Kelly. Now Kelly wants to get back into acting and wants to do it by making a cameo on her favorite television show , Parks and Recreation. A few weeks back, Kelly reached out to her fans via her website to help her get on the hit sitcom. Heres what she wrote : Here's the deal ... I really want to be on 'Parks and Recreation.' It's hilarious! I am a bad actress but maybe I could play a bad actress! I would nail that! I need to be in a scene with Ron Swanson. I love all of them but the trucker stache gets me every time. So, I'm gonna need all of my fans help please. Please tweet every member of the cast, the producers, the writers, security in that building, and an...

Kelly Clarkson debuts at No. 2 this week on The Billboard 200, behind only Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto . According to Nielsen SoundScan, Kelly's Stronger album sold 163,000 copies. Looks like Scotty McCreery's got a little staying power: Clear as Day spends its fourth week in the top 10 and has sold nearly 400,000 units since its release. Lauren Alaina's Wildflower drops to No. 24 while passing the 100,000 sales mark. And speaking of staying power, check out Mandisa: After coming back into the Billboard 200 last week, her What If We Were Real -- released in April -- leaps from No. 150 to No. 95 this week, with more than 4,000 sales. Kelly Clarkson: Miss Independent

When American Idol started in the early naughts, it had an almost public-accessish charm about itthere was a "let's raise a barn" brio embodied by Simon Cowell's relative unkemptness, the smallness of the stage, and the goofiness of hastily dispatched co-host Brian Dunkleman. That talent-show feel was gradually eroded by the show's ratings triumphs, with the stage ballooning into something that could conceivably be called an EnormoDome and Cowell burnishing his British wit to a diamond-hard shine. (He got better-looking, too. The power of the stylist.) But the show's first victor, a Texan named Kelly Clarkson, somehow managed to retain a good chunk of the initial season's can-do spirit over the course of the nearly 10 years since she walked off with the title. Her fifth album, Stronger , shows her growing even more comfortable in her own skin, an achievement made somewhat more notable by the public dust-up that accompanied her "difficult" third ...

Kelly Clarkson Says Breakup Songs 'Scare Men Off'

Kelly Clarkson is doing what she does best on her fifth studio album: delivering powerful pop breakup anthems. Stronger has several feisty songs that will help any girl get over a broken heart, yet Clarkson told MTV News she wasn't channeling her own breakup woes for inspiration. "A lot of times, if I'm writing it ... a lot of people think that's about a guy; it's not actually about that. It's more about my work environment," Clarkson said. "I write 'metaphorically speaking' a lot. Sometimes it's not always about a guy; I just end up writing it more that way because it's better for mainstream radio. I actually haven't dated in a while, so there's no breakup song for me on there." With hit songs like "Since U Been Gone," "Behind These Hazel Eyes," "Walk Away," "Never Again" and, most recently, "Mr. Know It All," Clarkson has become known as a 'Break-Up Anthem Quee...

Kelly Clarkson "My December"; RCA 1 1/2 stars (out of 4) Everybody hurts sometimes, as the R.E.M. song says. Some people write about it in diaries, others talk it out with shrinks. Kelly Clarkson, the most engaging and talented American Idol yet, poured her pain into her third album, and the pain will be shared by anyone unfortunate enough to hear the dreary result. Wallowing in misery and spite, rife with clumsy Evanescence and Alanis Morissette knockoffs, it's joyless, nearly hopeless and, worst of all, virtually tuneless. Her previous album, "Breakaway," broke the mold of "Idol " shlock, setting a high standard of heartbreaks with hooks and selling 5.8 million copies to date. Minus the hooks and with a foot far too heavy on the heartbreaks, My December will stall considerably short of that mark. Hope for happier times next album. Kelly Clarkson, "Stronger" (RCA Records) *** Kelly Clarkson has been wowing audiences with her powerful voice since she burst onto the scene as the first "American Idol" winner a decade ago. Since then, the dynamic singer has sold millions by making female empowerment anthems her mantra, from booming pop-rock songs that call for women to stand up for themselves to finger-wagging tunes that tell not-good-enough men that they're not good enough. Clarkson's fifth studio album, "Stronger," addresses the same issues with a "richer and fuller" sound than usual: Clarkson said she wanted to sound like she does when performing live, without employing any of the modern-day tuning aides. The result is a more natural sound that allows her already explosive voice to bloom even more. The record is full of danceable tracks that just won't budge from your humming repertoire. Whether it's pop, rock, 1980s riffs or electro streaks, "Stronger...

Kelly Clarkson Biography: Kelly Clarkson, winner of American Idol's first season. Born in Fort Worth and raised in Burleson, Kelly grew-up with standard ambitions of serving the humanity. She desired to be Marine Biologist. Thankfully, those dreams were abandoned forever when she joined the school choir, at the age of 13, after her teacher found her singing to herself in the corridor. It was the first time her talent was found. While still in school, she performed in state and regional singing competitions, amazing the audience with her voice. After graduation, she moved alone to Los Angeles. With high hopes, she started sending out her Demo-Tape in order to achieve her first step in the music industry. Meanwhile, she managed to get some very odd jobs, such as Telemarketer, Red-Bull promo-girl, waitress, pharmacy assistant, movie theatre and even at the zoo. She also was an extra on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and worked briefly with songwriter Gerry Goffin. Kelly was forced to mo...
