Clarkson revealed the news to "Entertainment Tonight" at the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, April 7. Clarkson's interview can be seen below.
"Oh he's not only singing, he's marrying us," Clarkson said when asked if Shelton was performing at her wedding. "He totally is. He's done it before with people."
"Well we're technically married when the ceremony already happens so it's not like it's going to be null and void or anything because it's Blake," she added. She later said, "He [Blake] loves it. He's so into it."
Clarkson is engaged to Brandon Blackstock, a 35-year-old Nashville-based talent manager. The singer announced her engagement in December 2012. The couple has been dating since late 2011.
Blackstock is the son of Clarkson's manager Narvel Blackstock, who is currently marri! ed to sin! ger Reba McEntire. Blackstock is McEntire's step-son.
Clarkson said the wedding planning is still coming together and even though they've got Shelton booked to officiate the wedding and Clarkson has found her dress, the couple still doesn't have a wedding date. They have the month picked, she told "Entertainment Tonight," but they do not have a date set due to scheduling.
It was announced earlier this month that the singer is set to go on tour with Maroon 5 as a "special guest." The tour kicks off on August 1 in St. Louis.
Clarkson, a Texas native, won the first season of "American Idol" back in 2002. She recently released a greatest hits compilation album called "Greatest Hits - Chapter One" in November.
