On Friday Kelly Clarkson Returns To American Idol was a top story. Here is the recap: (popmusiclife) Kelly Clarkson returned to the American Idol stage Thursday night. The Season 1 winner was on hand to perform her new single, "People Like Us," one of three new tracks on her current "Greatest Hits Chapter 1" collection.

Clarkson was nervous about her appearance on the show; on Wednesday, she tweeted, "Okay. Tomorrow I'm performing at Idol in front of @MariahCarey. Pray for me. #PleaseDearGodDontLetMeSuck :)"

Carey replied to the tweet with one of her own: "@kelly_clarkson Come on Kelly, you're always #pow! I can't wait to see you, you're so talented! x0x0 #L4L"
