Kelly Clarkson is one of the original reality television success stories as she became the first winner of American Idol all the way back in 2002 and has been around ever since.

After over 10 years in the music industry she has acclaimed huge hits such as power ballad 'Because Of You' and every teenage girl's favourite 'Since You've Been Gone' resulting in her deiciding to release a greatest hits album.

According to MTV, she told 'American Idol' host Ryan Seacrest that she was shocked about being asked to put out a greatest hits album, she said: "I was like, 'Really? I'm 30! I feel like that's something you do when ... you don't have anything else to put out. So, yeah, but I'm 30, so that's weird."

Kelly also spoke about her decade in the business, she said: It's been a decade now since I won 'American Idol.' Sometimes it feels longer because, although it has been exciting, that was a lot of pressure to have as a 19-year-old girl.

"To own a company, lead an organization as a business woman, and be able to create music I'm proud of has been tough but inspiring for me."

The 30-year-old has sold 20 million albums worldwide with Breakaway being her most successful with 12 million sold around the world, including 1.5 million in the UK.
