Kelly Clarkson Gay Rumors Possibly True

'Being single doesn't mean you're gay,' singer told Cosmopolitan about rumors before getting engaged to Brandon Blackstock.

Kelly Clarkson is now engaged to Brandon Blackstock. But how come reports about her being gay persist?

MTV reports:

Before [Kelly] Clarkson became a wife-to-be, she was a longtime single lady, which, in turn, sparked rumors that she was gay. Yet, Clarkson admits, those headlines never fazed her.

"People think, 'Oh, she's been single for too long.' That's kind of an insult to the gay community," Clarkson said. "Being single doesn't mean you're gay. But I'm never insulted by it. I mean, I get hit on by the hottest girls ever. Oh my god, if I was a lesbian, I would be so in luck. But it's just not my thing. I've always batted for the boys' team."

Fans of Clarkson, fear not, even though she is now extremely happy with her fianc and recently celebrated her 30th birthday, it doesn't mean that she will stop writing her hit songs about relationship problems; they might just have a different spin to them.

"It's kind of the next chapter for me, so there's still stuff to write about. The idea of 'Catch My Breath' is 'Man, it's been a decade and a lot of growing up.' And I think women in their 20s are searching, searching, searc! hing... What do I want? What makes me happy? What doesn't make me happy?" Clarkson said. "I tell my boyfriend, 'I feel like the rug is gonna be pulled out from under me anytime.' He thinks I'm such a pessimist. But I think being so happy freaks you out. So there's something to write about in that as well."
