It was a good sign for organisers, who are hoping headline act Kelly Clarkson will trump the gloomy weather and hustle in the hoards from the roads into town.

This morning they will attempt to break two world records set previously in Deniliquin for the number of blue singlets and utes gathered at one place.

They are yet to beat 2010s score of 10,152 utes and 3500 blue singlets.

Lovely weather has been the crucial element in record-breaking numbers in past years.

But Texas-born Clarkson might just be the magic ingredient this year.

Our numbers are so weather dependent and the weather has been awful this morning, marketing manager Karla Notley said yesterday.

This morning it was blowing a gale.

But its really nice now. The winds gone. Its quite warm.

Australian talent had its moment in the spotlight last night, with country stars Lee Kernaghan, The McClymonts and John Williamson belting out their hits.

Tonight, Clarkson will be joined on the main stage by The Living End, Joe Nichols and Jasmine Rae.

The main stage will also be the place to be to hear the result of the ute record count.

With utes outnumbering any other vehicle at the festival theres every chance this will be another record-breaking year.!

D uring the day, there will be plenty of things to keep every petrol-head happy.

The tractor pull is back again this year after an absence, while the Australian National Circle Work Championships roars off at 10.30am.

Show n Shine prizes will be presented at 12.30pm and the sky will be patrolled all day by the RAAF Roulettes.

At 2.30pm, the AFL grand final will be screened live, making the muster the biggest crowd for the big game outside the MCG. Thats some sort of record.
